How to run the Party Escape Room
Players solve a short chain of paper puzzles and combine their results into a final code before the event timer expires.
Materials and setup
Print all puzzle pages, keep hints and answers with the host, provide pens and scrap paper, and optionally place each stage in a numbered envelope.
Play steps
- Read the opening brief and start the timer.
- Players inspect each page and record a proposed answer.
- The host confirms an answer before releasing the next envelope or stage.
- Combine stage answers in the printed order to enter the final code.
Host tips and variants
Give hints in layers: first a direction, then a method, then a near-solution. Deduct two minutes per hint for competition; for a relaxed version, remove the timer and allow all hint levels.
Example round
A letter grid may reveal a four-letter word after players follow numbered coordinates. The host checks that word, then hands over the envelope marked with the matching symbol.
Design note
The pack alternates observation, word, and logic tasks so one specialist cannot solve every stage alone; all physical actions remain table-safe.
