How to run the Survey Showdown
Two teams try to name the ranked answers on a host board. Revealed answers score their printed point values; the team with the highest total after all rounds wins.
Materials and setup
Print the host answer sheets, keep point values hidden, split players into two teams, and choose a scorekeeper. A bell or raised hand can serve as the buzzer.
Play steps
- The host reads one survey prompt.
- A representative from each team races to offer an answer.
- The team with the higher-ranked answer controls the board and keeps guessing.
- After the agreed number of misses, the other team gets one steal attempt.
- Add revealed points and move to the next round.
Host tips and variants
Accept answers that clearly match the meaning on the key, not just exact wording. For a shorter game, alternate one guess per team with no control phase; for younger groups, remove the steal penalty.
Example round
For “Name something people bring to a picnic,” the board may accept “blanket” and “food” as different ranked answers. “Sandwiches” can count under food if the host announces category matching.
Design note
This is an original party format inspired by ranked-survey play; it does not use television branding, show recordings, or proprietary question data.
