How to run the Guess the Song Quiz
Players identify a song title from original descriptive clues. The game uses no audio and does not reproduce full lyric passages.
Materials and setup
Print question sheets and the host key, provide pens, and choose whether artist names are worth a separate bonus point.
Play steps
- The host reads one descriptive clue.
- Players privately write a song title.
- After all clues, reveal the key and score one point per title.
- If enabled, award one bonus point for the correct performer.
Host tips and variants
Accept punctuation differences and translated titles when the intended song is clear. Run a decade round, a team buzzer round, or let players contribute one original non-lyric clue for a bonus question.
Example round
A clue might describe “a celebration anthem built around repeated good wishes” without quoting its lyrics. Players write the title they believe fits, and the host checks the key.
Design note
Clues describe themes, situations, or musical context rather than copying lyrics, recordings, album art, or proprietary trivia text.
