How to play Word Scramble
Players rearrange the letters in each clue to recover a themed word. The highest number of exact answers before time is called wins.
Materials and setup
Print one scramble sheet per player and one host answer key. Provide pens, choose a time limit, and hide the key until every sheet is turned over.
Play steps
- Start all players on the same signal.
- Players write the corrected word beside each scramble.
- The host calls time and reads the solutions.
- Award one point per exact word; spelling must be recognizable.
Host tips and variants
Offer the first letter as a group hint if everyone stalls. Teams can solve one shared sheet, or use relay mode where each player solves one word before passing the page.
Example round
“KCEA” becomes “CAKE.” If a player writes the right letters but an unrelated anagram, only the themed answer on the key scores.
Design note
Words are kept short enough for a party pace, and the answer key is separated so the printable can be distributed without accidental spoilers.
