How to play
You start with a main base and 12 workers already mining crystal. Keep training workers, add supply before it runs out, put up production buildings such as a barracks, build a vapor building on a vent, climb the tech tree, and raise an army. There is one way to win: destroy every building of every enemy; lose all of yours and you lose. The "Next step" hint in the top left tells you what to do next; close it with the cross once you know your way around.
Resources and supply
- Crystal (blue crystals): eight clusters by every base. Two workers per cluster is the sweet spot, so a base is full at sixteen.
- Vapor (green vents): build a vapor building on a vent first, then send three workers to each. Advanced units and research need vapor.
- Supply: every unit takes supply, up to 200. When the counter turns red, humans build a supply depot, divines an obelisk, and the swarm hatches a floatsac.
- When the crystal near your main runs low, expand: build another main base by a new crystal field.
The three races
Humans
Steel and gunpowder. An engineer has to stay on site for a building to go up, and it can repair buildings and machines. Human buildings below a third of their health catch fire, so repair them in time. Units: engineer, rifleman (stims once researched), flamer, medic (heals biological units on its own), siege tank (sieged: range 13 with splash), wolf walker, falcon and dreadnought (its star lance charges up and deals 240 damage to one target).
Divines
Costly, mighty warriors, and every unit and building carries a shield that recovers on its own. A probe only opens a warp; the building forms by itself, so one probe can place several in a row. Most divine buildings must sit in an obelisk's blue power field and stop working without power. Units: probe, paladin (leaps at foes once charge is researched), lightchaser (teleports once blink is researched), psion priest (its psi tempest hurts friend and foe), warden (raises a barrier when hit), titan (strides over cliffs and sweeps a line with its beams), lightwing and ark (sends out a cloud of drones).
Swarm
Cheap, fast, many. Every unit hatches from a larva: each nest holds up to three, and selecting the nest shows what they can become. A drudge turns into a building, and buildings must stand on the purple creep; swarm units run faster on creep and heal over time. A nest evolves into a lair and then a hive to unlock stronger units. Units: drudge, floatsac (flies, provides supply), clawling (two per larva), burster (rolls in and bursts), spiker, bladewing (its glaive bounces between three targets), behemoth and sporemother (its spore cloud roots enemies in place).
Fighting
- High ground: mains sit on a plateau with one ramp down. Units below cannot see up, so an enemy on the high ground can shoot you while you cannot target it: holding the ramp pays.
- Light and armored: many weapons deal bonus damage to one kind, such as tanks against armor and flamers or bursters against light units. Select a unit to see its damage, range and type.
- Splash: tank shells, psi tempests and bursters hit an area, so do not clump up; a sieged tank hits your own units too.
- Upgrades: the engineering bay, forge and evolution pit research weapon and armor levels that make the whole army stronger.
Computer rivals
Play against one, two or three computers in a free-for-all, or two against two (you and a computer ally against the other two). There are four levels: easy computers build slowly and attack late; hard ones keep their army in step with yours and don't fold to a single push; brutal ones mine faster. Each computer picks a strategy per game, for example the humans' infantry, steel or sky fleet.
Planets
Every planet is generated anew: verdant, red dunes, frost, magma or spore jungle. Seas, mountains and forests block the way and make narrow passes. All starting positions are laid out symmetrically, so the land is fair for everyone.
Controls
- Left click to select, drag to box-select; double-click a unit to select all of that kind on screen. Shift adds to the selection.
- Right click: move, attack, gather, repair, or set the rally point of a selected building.
- A attack-move (fight anything met on the way), S stop, H hold, M move, P patrol.
- The command card in the bottom right maps to the keyboard by position: Q W E R T / A S D F G / Z X C V B.
- Ctrl+1–9 (or Alt+1–9) makes a group, 1–9 selects it, twice to look.
- F1 idle worker, F2 whole army, Space last alert, F3 pause, Esc cancel.
- Arrow keys, the screen edges or a middle-button drag move the view, the wheel zooms; click the minimap to look, right-click it to send units.
Tips
- Keep training workers for the first few minutes: the opening is all about the economy.
- Add supply when you are about six short; being supply blocked is the most common slip.
- Send armies with A (attack-move), not a plain right-click, so they fight back on the way.
- When you hear that your base is under attack, press Space to jump there.
- The computer's first wave comes after about five or six minutes, so do not spend everything on tech.
FAQ
Does the game save?
No. A game lasts about 10 to 20 minutes and ends when you close the page. Your setup (race, rivals, difficulty, graphics) is remembered in this browser.
It runs slowly. What can I do?
Set Graphics to medium or low before you start: medium turns off the glow, low also turns off shadows and lowers the resolution. Phones and small screens use low on their own.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Drag with one finger to move the view, pinch to zoom, tap a unit to select it and tap the ground to give orders; the Box select button selects an area. Real-time strategy is still at its best with a keyboard and mouse.
Is it in English?
Yes. Switch between Chinese and English in the top right; the game's text switches too.
Version notes
Music and sound effects, 2026-10-06: a title theme, one theme for each race (steel for the humans, light for the divines, a creeping swarm), and a battle theme that takes over when a big fight breaks out. Every weapon, explosion, death, ability, unit, building and order has its own sound, placed left or right and nearer or farther by where it happens on screen, and each planet has its own ambience. Turn sound or music off in the top right; set the volumes in the main menu.
First release, 2026-10-05: three races, 24 kinds of unit, close to 30 buildings and upgrade research, computer rivals at four levels with three strategies per race, one to three rivals or two against two, five kinds of random planet, fog of war, high-ground vision, a minimap, control groups and hints for new players. The planets, units, buildings and battle effects are low-poly 3D models generated live in the page.
